Islam and Enlightenment - Words of Love, Passion, and Devotion

Islam and Enlightenment 1.

"If that God who is One and All-Conquering , reveals Himself to one of His servants with the quality of the Destroyer that servant would see everything annihilated . Then " Everything is in annihilation except His face."

"Everything on earth will be annihilated and there will only remain the face of your Lord who is both Majestic and Generous. "So according to these it is necessary to die today , before death .

This death must come about by resolution and he in whom this state of death appears will see the complete annihilation of everything but God..Nothing is left but the beauty of God.

Ibn Arabi

Islam and Enlightenment 2.

Men of intellect gain ease when given ease; lovers consider bondage to ease a disgrace. The intellect says, "The six directions are limits and there is no way out."

Love says, "There is a way, and I have traveled it many times." The intellect saw a bazaar and began to trade; Love saw many bazaars beyond the intellect's bazaar... .

The lovers who quaff the wine's dregs have many ecstacies within; the dark-hearted men of intellect are inwardly full of denial.

The intellect says, "Do not go forward, for annihilation contains only thorns." Love says to the intellect, "The thorns are in you."

Enough! Silence! Extract the thorn of existence from the heart's foot! Then you will see many rosegardens within yourself.

Rumi

Islam and Enlightenment 3.

Glorious is the moment we sit in the palace, you and I
Two forms, two faces, but a single soul, you and I
The flowers will blaze and bird cries shower us with immortality The moment we enter the garden, you and I
All the stars of heaven will run out to gaze at us
As we burn as the full moon itself, you and I
The fire winged birds of heaven will rage with envy
In that place we laugh ecstatically, you and I
What a miracle, you and I, entwined in the same nest
While I am here in Konya, and you are in Khorassan
What a miracle, you and I, one love, one lover, one Fire
In this world and the next, in an ecstasy without end.

Rumi
